The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain Awards Over $370,000 in Scholarships
New Britain, CT – The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain, established in 1941, is proudly “Where Good Begins” in Berlin, New Britain, Plainville, and Southington. The Foundation works to inspire philanthropy, responsibly manage permanent charitable assets effectively, and partner to address key community issues through strategic leadership. With its recent achievement of awarding over $373,257 in scholarships, the Foundation continues to make a significant impact on the local community.
A total of 106 scholarships have been awarded, with support from 66 funds. Notably, five funds awarded scholarships for the first time in 2024, including the NBHS Good Turn Scholarship Fund, EC Goodwin RVTS Good Turn Scholarship Fund, Solomon Haynes Memorial Scholarship Fund, Ana Grace Marquez-Greene Love Wins 2024 Scholarship Fund, and the Sarra-Halloran Family Scholarship Fund.
“It has been exciting watching our scholarship program grow and continue to make a meaningful impact on the students in our community,” shares Candice, the Foundation’s Community Impact Officer. “Thanks to the donors who have established scholarships funds with us, our total amount awarded has increased 64% in the last 5 years!”
