Applying for a Grant

The Community Foundation engages in strategic grantmaking to organizations and programs that achieve clear gains for the residents of our region.

Your Journey Begins Here

All grant applications must go through our Online Grant Portal and begin with a Letter of Intent (LOI) summarizing the program or project for which funding is being sought. When you go on the portal, you will need to create a profile. If you think you have a profile but do not receive a link to reset your password, that means you do not have an existing profile and should create one.

Letters of Intent should be submitted by January 1 or July 1 to coordinate with the grant application deadline. For those invited to apply for funding after an LOI has been reviewed, grant application deadlines are February 1 and August 1.

Prior to submitting your LOI, we ask that you review our Community Investment Guidelines for complete information on our grants process and areas of interest. If an LOI is received after the deadline, staff will work to accommodate you as best they can.

For more detailed grant application guidance and information, to discuss your proposal before submitting a Letter of Intent, or discuss applying for funding through the Foundation’s First Years First Early Childhood Initiative, please call or email Joeline Wruck, Director of Grants & Initiatives, at 860.229.6018, x307.
