The Rev. Carl G. Vouros Memorial Fund Story
The Reverend Carl G. Vouros Fund is a charitable donor advised fund managed by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain. This fund is dedicated to continuing the legacy of Reverend Carl G. Vouros by making impactful grants throughout the community.
Honoring Reverend Carl G. Vouros
Reverend Carl G. Vouros served the New Britain community for over three decades at St. George Greek Orthodox Church. His contributions extended far beyond his pastoral duties. He was instrumental in erecting a new Cultural Center, served as Chaplain of the New Britain Fire Department for over 15 years, and was involved in numerous community organizations. His dedication to service earned him recognition and respect throughout the community.
The Reverend Carl G. Vouros Fund
The fund will begin making grants throughout the community in 2025, with recommendations from an advisory board comprising representatives from the nonprofit sector, as well as family and friends of the Vouros family. The fund aims to support initiatives that reflect Reverend Vouros’s commitment to community service and improvement.
Supporting the Community
Reverend Vouros’s legacy of service continues through this fund, which will provide financial support to projects and organizations that demonstrate a commitment to excellence, innovation, and community betterment. The fund is a testament to his enduring impact on the community he served.
Grant Guidelines
The Advisory Fund Board of the Vouros Fund meets annually to make decisions on grant requests from qualified nonprofits, local government, and school districts in New Britain. Areas of interest include education, youth athletic programs, JROTC, affordable housing, and school nutrition programs. All grant applications must be submitted through the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain’s Online Grant Portal.
