Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A to benefit Greater New Britain Disaster Response Fund

February 9, 2021, Southington, Conn. – The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain has collaborated with Southington Community Services to host a Spirit Night fundraiser at Chick-fil-A Southington.

On Thursday, February 18, from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm, patrons who visit the Southington Chick-fil-A drive-thru, located at 801 Queen Street, Southington, and mention the Disaster Response Fundraiser will support their community while enjoying a tasty meal. Chick-fil-A will contribute 15% of the sales collected towards the Greater New Britain Disaster Response Fund at the Community Foundation.

The purpose of the Greater New Britain Disaster Response Fund is to make resources available to local government community service departments and crisis coordinators to meet the basic needs of residents from Berlin, New Britain, Plainville, and Southington who are displaced from their homes for an extended period of time due to a natural disaster such as fire, flood, or other weather related event. Funds may also be used to support individual municipalities for basic food and shelter expenses related to temporarily supporting residents displaced due to a natural disaster.

“The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain continues to make an impact on the communities it serves. Southington Community Services appreciates this Fund, which allows us to continue to better address the needs of Southington residents during an emergency,” said Janet Mellon, Director of Community Services in Southington.

Spirit Night was organized by Southington Community Services in order to increase the amount of funding available to assist Southington residents. The proceeds from Spirit Night will be designated specifically for displaced Southington residents. Patrons must mention the fundraiser at the drive-thru in order for their order to benefit the fund.
