New Britain, Conn., January 6, 2023 – Application deadlines are quickly approaching for over $300,000 in scholarship dollars available through funds managed by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain (CFGNB).

Scholarships are available to high school seniors in New Britain, Berlin, Plainville, and Southington, with select scholarships available to students in Farmington, Newington, Wethersfield and beyond. A handful of scholarships are also available to local students already enrolled in their continuing education.

Last year, the Community Foundation awarded 91 scholarships from over 55 separate donor-established funds totaling $332,890.  “In 2022, we awarded the largest amount of scholarship dollars in our history,” said Foundation President, David Obedzinski, “and we are on track to break that record in 2023 due to generous donors who have established new scholarships with us or made gifts to their already established funds.”

Students enrolled in a public high school in our service area should consult their guidance counselors who have detailed information on the available scholarships and their deadlines.
