Local Students Receive More Than $245,000 in Scholarship Awards from Community Foundation of Greater New Britain

New Britain, Conn., July 6, 2020– The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain has awarded $245,890 in scholarships to 70 students from Berlin, New Britain, Plainville, Southington and other communities through a variety of managed scholarship funds established by individual donors. Since its inception in 1941, the Foundation has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships.

The awards come from 44 of the 51 named scholarship funds that the Foundation manages.

The honored students will attend a wide variety of colleges and universities in Connecticut and beyond, among them the University of Connecticut (UCONN), Central Connecticut State University (CCSU), Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU), and the University of Hartford, as well as additional out-of-state schools including Florida Gulf Coast University, Salve Regina University, University of Rhode Island, and more.
