First-Ever Community Sponsorship Awards Made to Eight Local Events

New Britain, Conn. (August 1, 2014) – The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain (CFGNB) has awarded more than $5,000 in financial assistance to eight local events as part of its Community Sponsorship Awards pilot program.

The program marks the Foundation’s first foray into the arena of event sponsorship. In testing the program Community Foundation Vice President, Operations Bob Trojanowski noted the importance of successful community events to the overall health and vitality of the region and how that goal aligned with the Foundation’s mission.

“We understand the importance of community events in making our towns great places to live,” said Trojanowski. “We are pleased to provide assistance to those who work so hard to make these events successful, and at the same time raise awareness of the important work of the Foundation.”
