CFGNB Announces 2026
Capacity Building Workshops for Nonprofits
Nonprofit organizations continue to face increasing demands, limited resources, and ongoing uncertainty—often without the budget to invest in professional development and training. Strong leadership, sound governance, effective technology use, and resilient teams are more essential than ever.
To help meet this need, the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain (CFGNB) is offering its 2026 Capacity Building Program, featuring high-quality, practical workshops at no cost to nonprofits. Sessions will cover timely topics including fundraising and major gifts, nonprofit governance during uncertain times, staff wellbeing and leadership development, and technology training focused on AI and cybersecurity.
Past participants consistently highlight the value of these workshops. One nonprofit leader shared, “As a leader of a small nonprofit, the training workshops are essential for me. They offer knowledge that I would be unable to get on my own.” Others noted, “We deeply appreciate the learning opportunities offered through the Capacity Building programs. I’ve applied many of the tools I learned, and they’ve been incredibly helpful,” and “Thank you for such a wonderful training experience! The sessions were not only informative but directly applicable to our work.”
All workshops will be held in person at the Klingberg Nexus Center (370 Linwood Street, New Britain) and are free of charge. In addition to expert-led training and peer learning with other local nonprofit professionals, participating organizations may also have access to one-on-one consulting for select workshops and eligibility for mini-grants to support organizational improvements.
Enrollment is open and accepted on a rolling basis as space allows.
