On Behalf of the Community, a Big Thank You!

Civic Leadership Fund Annual Appeal Successful Once Again; Campaign Critical to Continued Work of the Community Foundation

New Britain, Conn., April 11, 2016 – Thank you!

That’s the message from the leadership and staff of the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain, which reports that – thanks to the community’s generosity – the Foundation’s recently concluded 2015 Civic Leadership Fund (CLF) Annual Appeal Campaign was a success once again.

thank-you-noteThe 2015 CLF Annual Appeal raised more than $77,000, funds vital to sustaining Foundation operations at 74A Vine Street in New Britain. Without this infrastructure, none of the leadership of the Foundation – such as the First Years First early childhood development initiative – and none of the vital management of nearly $6 million in Foundation grants made since 2011 would be possible.

“These results are proof once again that our community recognizes the importance of the Community Foundation, and the work we do every day to make Berlin, New Britain, Plainville and Southington the best they can be,” said Jim Williamson, president of the Community Foundation. “We are grateful for this support, and for the opportunity it provides to continue our work.”

In the past four years, the Foundation’s CLF Annual Appeal has raised more than $260,000. What only a few short years ago was a small campaign barely generating $30,000 per year has become a vital element in the Foundation’s continued growth and ability to serve the community.

A key ingredient in the CLF Campaign’s success is the Community Foundation’s “Corporate Champions” program, which allows local businesses and corporations to show their support, through charitable donations, of the Foundation’s mission.

Two new Corporate Champions joined the Community Foundation team in 2015, Fiduciary Investment Advisors (FIA) and New Britain Medical Supplies. They joined a group that includes Stanley Black & Decker, the Tomasso Group, Okay Industries, Acme Monaco Corporation, Czepiga Daly Pope, eBenefits Group, Ericson Scalise & Mangan and Miller Moriarty & Company.
