Association of Fundraising Professionals and Community Foundation Offer Fundraising Workshops

New Britain, Conn. March 17, 2022 – The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain (CFGNB) is proud to partner with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Connecticut Chapter to offer the 2022 Principles of Fundraising Certificate Program.

The program is a series of workshops that provide high caliber, basic-skills development in the art and science of fundraising for nonprofits. The series includes five introductory level, workshops focusing on theory and practice taught by AFP members who are experts in their respective fields. Workshops are designed to help new and established nonprofit organizations raise money more effectively and efficiently. While the program is aimed at professionals with 0 to 5 years of experience, it may also benefit Executive Directors, Board Members, and Volunteers of the nonprofit sector.

“As we expand our programs to strengthen local nonprofits, we are pleased to work in partnership with AFP to offer these educational workshops to local non-profit organizations and professionals. We are confident the program will be relevant to their work in the communities we serve,” said Joeline Wruck, Director of Community Initiatives and Program Services at CFGNB.
Workshops include Organizing and Running a Successful Development Program, Building a Sustainable Annual Giving Program, Grants from Foundations and Corporations, Engaging Your Board and Volunteers to Raise Money, and the Art of Soliciting Major Gifts. Workshops will be offered virtually on Wednesdays in April and May from 9:00 AM to 10:30 or 11:00 AM via Zoom.
Workshops will cost $30 each for AFP members and $40 for non-members, or members and non-members may take all five workshops for $140. In order to obtain a certificate, you must attend all five workshops. For more details and to register, please visit https://cvent.me/BxvG21.

The first 10 agencies in our four-town area of Berlin, New Britain, Plainville, and Southington that register and complete the training will have half of the workshop cost ($70) reimbursed to them by the Foundation.
