More than $200,000 in Grants Approved by Community Foundation of Greater New Britain

Funding Supports Wide Range of Programs and Initiatives; New Britain Museum of American Art and Southington Family Resource Center Receive Major Funding

New Britain, Conn., September 20, 2017 – The New Britain Museum of American Art’s Education and Outreach Program and the Southington Public Schools’ Family Resource Center were among the major beneficiaries of more than $200,000 in grants awarded this week by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain (CFGNB).

The Community Foundation’s Board of Directors approved $216,405 in grants supporting a wide variety of non-profit programs and community initiatives serving Berlin, New Britain, Plainville and Southington. The awards include $16,500 in scholarships. Including grants awarded this year by the Community Chest of New Britain and Berlin, a supporting organization of CFGNB, the Community Foundation’s 2017 grant total now stands at nearly $900,000.
