New Britain to Host All-America City Celebration

The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain is the lead funder of the Coalition for New Britain’s Youth, which managed and coordinated the community’s collaborative presentation before the National Civic League in Denver in June, 2016.) 

City of New Britain to host “All-America City” Celebration

New Britain, Conn. August 3, 2016 – Mayor Erin E. Stewart and members of the community will host an event on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016 at Trinity-on-Main to celebrate the city’s designation by the National Civic League as an “All-America City.”

buy-tickets-now-buttonThe event will feature the official presentation of the award to the city from the delegation members who travelled to Colorado in June to help make the city’s case for the prestigious designation.

On June 19th, the National Civic League named New Britain one of only 10 towns and cities from across the country a 2016 “All-America City” based on partnerships in the community that have led to reducing chronic absenteeism among students, a decline in youth obesity rates, and a drop in summer learning loss.

“This award is validation of what many of us have known all along: we have hard AAC New Britain logoworking individuals and organizations in our community who are innovative and successful in bettering New Britain,” said Mayor Stewart. “This event will be a chance to celebrate this honor and to highlight some of the inspiring work taking place in our city.”

Appetizers will be provided by Whitsons Culinary Group and beverages will be available for purchase at the venue.
